This year’s festival is promising to be a belter, with a brand-new live show featuring Robin Hood, his merry men, Marian and the Sheriff, as well as tons more to entertain the whole family!
Cavalry of Heroes will be taking on jousting duties this year, with their spectacular show featuring horse stunts, archery, staff fighting and more. Their action-packed shows will put Robin and everyone back in the saddle once more, and take place each day throughout the week, having been designed specially for the festival – and Sherwood Forest is the only place you’ll be able to watch it!
Each year the forest plays host to a week of fun and festivities in August (August 5-11 for 2019) , celebrating the life and legend of our most famous resident – Robin Hood.
Visitors are invited to come along, dress-up if you want, and enjoy seven days of live re-enactments, song, dance, storytelling, sword-fighting, archery and adventures with the outlaws. You might even meet the legend himself …
You’ll find food and drink stalls, craft stands, demonstrations, medieval music, have-a-go archery and plenty of activities that will immerse you in the legends of Sherwood. A great way to make the most of the summer holidays, the Robin Hood Festival has been loved by families and Robin fans since 1984.
There’s no need to book and entry is free – there’s just a £6 parking fee for a full day. There’s a small charge for some activities, and a pre-bookable evening event. Just look out for updates here a little closer to the time, and don’t forget to buy your information-packed programme when you come to the festival.
Robin Hood Festival 2019 will take place from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 August 2019 – see you there!
